What to Expect at The Power of Community 2026
The Power of Community is more than an event; it is a vibrant, joy filled celebration of health, wellness, and the strength we find in one another. Inspired by beloved traditions like the Strawberry Festival, Clay Bowl Giving Project, Power of the Purse, and Ultimate Pink Party, this special day brings together the very best of our community in one powerful, uplifting experience. We gather to honor women navigating cancer; whether breast or cervical, while also uplifting those reclaiming their lives free from domestic or sexual violence. It is a space to celebrate survivors, support fighters, and remember that healing happens when we lift each other up.
Held right in our own Patricia and W. Kelley Carr Advocacy Center backyard and parking lot; this June gathering is designed to be welcoming and comfortable, with plenty of shade to help you stay cool while you enjoy the day. Your individual ticket includes a wide range of free experiences; live music, the dedication of our beautiful Linda Sorensen Peony Garden, hands on crafts like bracelet making, sweet treats, outdoor games, and complimentary nonalcoholic beverages including water. Whether you stay for the entire event or stop in when you can; there will be something special waiting for you.
Guests can also explore local vendors, purchase one-of-a-kind clay bowls, and enjoy food truck favorites. Even more meaningful; proceeds from many of these purchases will support the important work of YWCA Greater Lafayette, so every extra treat or treasure you choose helps give back.
At the bottom of this page, you can find the up-to-date growing list of culinary vendors, small businesses, and sponsors bringing The Power of Community to life.
Come celebrate, connect, and be uplifted by the power of community. A full schedule of the day’s events is coming soon; we cannot wait to share this special experience with you.
