YWCA Greater Lafayette Board of Directors Appoints Lindsey Mickler as President & CEO

YWCA Greater Lafayette Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Lindsey Mickler as their new President & CEO. Beth Bangs, YWCA Board Chair said Mickler is a versatile, highly adaptable, results-oriented professional with proven nonprofit leadership and management skills.“Mickler brings to YWCA extensive experience in the prevention and elimination of domestic violence, most recently in her role as a coordinated entry specialist for the Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence (ICADV),” Bangs said. “She has a reputation for setting high expectations, promoting individual and organizational goal attainment and applying her expertise to key aspects of the organizational mission.”In Mickler’s most recent position with ICADV, she collaborated with key stakeholders throughout the Indiana Balance of State to integrate survivors into the existing coordinated entry process. She oversaw a statewide coordinated entry marketing campaign to increase awareness to reach underserved individuals. She also assisted ICADV with the implementation of $2.5 million dollars in domestic violence bonus funds from Indiana Housing Community Development Agency allocated to ten subrecipients throughout Indiana.Mickler’s experience also includes serving as Director of the Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Program at Family Service Association of Kokomo, Indiana. This role included the operation of a 24/7 emergency crisis shelter for individuals fleeing domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking. While in this role, Mickler researched and wrote grants to sustain ongoing operations.Mickler holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Public Management from Indiana University, Kokomo. She was the 2019 recipient of the Women’s Champion of Success Award from the Kokomo Chamber of Commerce.“We are so excited that Lindsey has accepted the executive leadership role of President & CEO,” Bangs said. “Her passion for our mission of eliminating racism and empowering women is evident in her personal mission for women’s issues, justice and empowerment.”Born and raised in Kokomo, Mickler relocated to Lafayette in 2021 with her significant other, Brandi Christiansen, and two shih-tzu’s, Marlie and Peyton. In her spare time, she enjoys camping, live music, gardening and discovering local restaurants and small businesses. While the work she does is challenging, Mickler says she makes sure to find humor along the way.“I am both honored and humbled to have been selected to lead the important, life-saving work at YWCA,” Mickler said. “I look forward to building a strong team that includes staff, the board of directors and community stakeholders as we move forward the mission of empowerment and equity for all.”Mickler will join the team of YWCA on July 12 and will assume the President & CEO role upon the retirement of current President & CEO Allison Beggs on August 1.
