YWCA Greater Lafayette Yearly Recap

As we bid farewell to another remarkable year, it's both a privilege and a joy to reflect on the incredible journey we've undertaken together as a community committed to positive change. In the heart of YWCA beats the collective passion and dedication of individuals like you, who have tirelessly worked towards a shared vision of a better world.

Here are a just few highlights from 2023:

Reimagined Clay Bowl Giving Project: In April, we were thrilled to welcome almost 400 folks to YWCA to partake of a delicious lunch and the annual rite of passage - selecting a new clay bowl. Thanks to you, we were able to top our previous year’s revenue and help ensure the continuation of our vital programs and services.

Salute to Women: In June, we had the honor of recognizing eight exceptional women (Angie Klink, Cassandra Salazar, Courtney Murtaugh, Ebony Gilbert, Jaime Malenchik, Sallie Dell Fahey, Sujatha Ramani, Valerie Clark) in our annual celebration. Listening to their stories was truly uplifting and and a reminder of all the hard work women do behind the scenes.

Domestic Violence Proclamations: October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and we were privileged to be part of the celebrations in Carroll, Clinton, Warren, White and Tippecanoe counties.

Outreach: YWCA had a presence at more than 30 community events in Tippecanoe and surrounding counties. Staff also attended countless community engagement meetings and partner events. Getting the word out about all we do is an important part of our mission. We also became a certified rape crisis center (1 of 15 in the state).

Rockstar Brunch and Bands: October also welcomed a new event for us — Rockstar Brunch and Bands. Attendees had a great time participating in auctions, having a tasty brunch, and listening to local women musical artists do their thing.

We have some exciting things coming up in 2024! Most notably, we will be unveiling a new website, and celebrating the 50th anniversary of Salute to Women. We are forever grateful for your support this past year and look forward to having you On A Mission with YWCA in 2024.
