Statement on the Murder of George Floyd

black background with white textYWCA Greater Lafayette is deeply saddened by the loss of yet another Black life, George Floyd of Minneapolis Minnesota."In Greater Lafayette, YWCA is thankful for the support of local law enforcement departments that we work with on a near daily basis to tackle incidents of domestic violence defense in our community. We are on a mission to continue to deepen those partnerships to work with local law enforcement departments and governments to ensure the frequent and necessary training to identify and address issues related to institutional racism for the safety, protection and dignity of all community members," said Allison Beggs, President/CEO of YWCA Greater Lafayette.We extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of George Floyd, and to the larger Minneapolis and St. Paul community.
