New Year, New Beginning!

We look forward to continue advancing justice through our shared mission, vision, and story. Since 1929 YWCA Greater Lafayette has been at the forefront of meeting the needs of the communities we serve. While the programs and services offered have changed over time, we remain dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. Each of our pillar programs collectively support our mission and meet the needs of the community. The shift from a recreational to a social service model allows us to foster purpose-driven programming that addresses safety from gender based violence, women’s economic security, racial justice, and access to healthcare. We are committed to learning and growing together through the challenging moments to provide services and support that offer stability and self-sufficiency. We are steadfast in our commitment to one YWCA, telling HER-story … of resilience and breaking through barriers.Leaders are responsible for keeping our organizations strong. We are empowered with decision-making responsibility that will impact our organization’s work long into the future. We are entrusted with ensuring that we are putting our core purpose and those who depend on us first. We will invest in partnerships and collaborative opportunities with other changemakers that will allow us to respond to the moment and be proactive as we look to the future. As we embark on a new year, we welcome change as an opportunity to rise to meet the challenges amidst a global pandemic that has resulted in an increase in domestic violence, exposed inequities in access to healthcare, emphasized necessity for workforce development, and highlighted need for racial and social justice initiatives. Our work is more important than ever. We will embrace bold initiatives that will allow us to drive our mission forward. This includes reimagining our footprint, ensuring our community events are mission-aligned, and lifting up our life-saving work to safeguard our future for the next generation. We cannot do this work alone and invite you to join us in our journey. We will continue to foster empowerment in action through our events, our collaborations, and our pillar programs that we extend to each of the communities we serve. As One YWCA we will boldly embrace change and invest in partnerships to continue to do our work until injustice is rooted out, until institutions are transformed, and until the world sees women, girls, and people of color the way we do. Equal. Powerful. Unstoppable.Together, we are on a mission!Lindsey MicklerPresident and CEOYWCA Greater Lafayette
