Salute to Women is a celebration of remarkable women in the Greater Lafayette Community. The first Salute to Women was held in 1974 and has since become an integral part of the mission of YWCA Greater Lafayette. The evening brings focus to empowered women who model a variety of ways to lead, add value to our community and improve the lives of others.
Submit a Nomination
Nominate a woman who deserves to be “saluted” for her accomplishments to our community. YWCA Greater Lafayette plans to honor several Women of Distinction and a Mary Keller Ade Woman of Wisdom. A Woman of Innovation award will also be presented to recognize a woman under 40 who has served the community admirably and is a role model for others.
To submit a nomination, please fill out a 2019 Salute To Women Nomination Form. Printed forms are available at the YWCA Front Desk. Once complete, submit your nominations by email to Jordan Bonfitto, or mail to YWCA Greater Lafayette, Attn: Salute to Women, 605 N. 6th Street, Lafayette, IN 47901. Nominations are due on or before Friday, January 18, 2019.
Honorees will be selected based solely on the information submitted in the nomination. It is recommended that you consult with your nominee prior to submitting the nomination to ensure the information is accurate and complete. Every nominee and her nominator will be notified of the status of the nomination prior to the event.

Clay Bowl Giving Project is one of the highlights of the year at YWCA Greater Lafayette. Since the first Clay Bowl in 2001, it continues to be amazing outpouring of creativity, concern and compassion for domestic violence survivors and their families. Local potters are the key component, providing hundreds of unique and beautiful clay bowls for attendees to take home.
Attendees may choose lunch, dinner, carryout or all of the above! Join us for a tasty meal and browse the hundreds of clay bowls and search for the perfect one to take home. Attendees may also chose to purchase additional Clay Bowls. Proceeds from Clay Bowl Giving Project support YWCA Greater Lafayette’s Domestic Violence Intervention & Prevention Program.
Each year, YWCA Greater Lafayette helps hundreds of victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking receive protective orders through the courts. To put that into perspective, YWCA assists in 75% of all protective orders filed in Tippecanoe County. In addition, YWCA handles an average of 17 calls per day to our domestic violence hotline, and provided 8,205 nights of safe shelter to 407 victims of domestic violence and their dependent children in 2017.
Registration for the 2019 Clay Bowl Giving Project will open in February. For more information on Clay Bowl Giving Project, contact Ericka or call the YWCA Front Desk at 765-742-0075.
