Expressions: Healing art workshop for survivors of trauma

Categories: DVIPP, News

Box containing a feather and inspirational wordsResidents in our emergency shelter have the opportunity to attend Expressions — weekly therapeutic art sessions facilitated by trained staff. Through art, residents are able to process the trauma they have experienced in their life in a safe and supported space.

For the first time, YWCA Greater Lafayette is going to be hosting Expressions therapeutic art workshops for the community. Simultaneous workshops will be facilitated for children and adults. Our goal is to provide participants with a window of time where they can feel safe and supported within a community of survivors while discovering a renewed sense of themselves through creative expression.
